International tours and festivals
She has performed in Japan (Tokyo, 2000 and 2013 “The Piano Era”), Cuba (Havana International Jazz Festival), Brazil, Peru, Uruguay (Jazz a la Calle Festival), Denmark, Germany, Norway, Belgium, Latvia, Estonia, France and Holland, in addition to numerous theaters across Argentina. In 2016 she gave a South American rhythms workshop in São Paulo for 100 educators from all over Brazil, organized by Proyecto Guri.
Orquesta Sudamericana
The Orquesta de Música Sudamericana is a 22-musician ensemble that began in 2007 on the initiative of its founder and director, Nora Sarmoria, under the Argentine Musicians’ Union (SADEM), and has continued independently since 2008 to this day.
The group recorded two albums produced by the orchestra itself: the first at ION studios (2008), featuring guest musicians such as Quique Sinesi, Marcelo Torres, Marcos Cabezaz, Martín Pantyrer and Marcela Passadore; the second, “Unión Alta” (2011), with compositions by Marcos Cabezaz, Lilián Saba, Violeta Parra, Teresa Parodi, Quique Sinesi, Nora Sarmoria and Julián Solarz, featuring the voices of Anía Sambuco, Liliana Herrero, Verónica Marjbein, Alejandra Yujhman, Guillermina Díaz and Catalina Ward Sarmoria. In 2013 it recorded and filmed the CD-DVD project “La Orquesta Sudamericana interpreta a Compositores del Sur”, featuring a repertoire by Marcos Cabezaz, Richard Nant, Hernán Ríos, Juan “Pollo” Raffo, Lilián Saba and Alan Plachta, closing with a concert by Hugo Fattoruso at Teatro IFT (November 2012), released in 2014.
